What is the best way to get to 8 Bit And Up?

The best way to get to us is by subway. The closest station to us is on the F line, Second Avenue station. If you stay near the east (Brooklyn) end of the train, you will exit at 1st Avenue and Houston Street. Walk uptown on 1st Avenue to 3rd Street and make a left. How much will you pay for....?

As a matter of policy we do not quote trade-in values over the phone. These values depend on many factors including condition, market demand, our current inventory levels, and many more. You must bring your items into our store so we can make a proper appraisal. Keep in mind, that you are the seller. My console is missing the (controllers/wires/etc.) Will you still buy it?

In most cases, the answer is Yes. There may be some cases where we will not, particularly if the system has very little value or when the missing component is nearly impossible to replace. Click here to learn more about our Buy and Trade policies.

Will you place games on hold?

We do, but only for a short period of time. Maybe for a day or two.

Do you only buy and sell retro games?

While vintage games are our specialty, we do carry some games for the newer consoles like the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch. However, we do not have an extensive selection. We do buy next gen games and consoles.

Is your store wheelchair accessible?

Unfortunately it is not. You have to go down three steps to enter. However we go out of our way to accommodate people with disabilities related to mobility. For example, we can bring items to you to look at by our front door, take pictures and send them to you, etc. We also frequently interact with people who are unable to see or hear and people with various mental illnesses.

Do you have working video game systems in the store that can be played?

We generally have at least 5 or 6 game consoles set up in the store for display purposes. We also have working arcade machines which you can feed quarters and play. From time to time, we run small tournaments, parties, and other events during which systems are available for use. Keep in mind that we are a store and not an arcade.

Do you accept Pre-Orders?

We normally do not take pre-orders. We do not like taking money without immediately giving the customer something of equal value in return.
